New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Legal pressure seems to be mounting against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi. The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has issued orders to start a detailed investigation in connection with the allegations of BJP's 'Sheeshmahal'. After receiving the report of the preliminary investigation going on since November, this order has been given to look into the matter more deeply.

Opposition leader Vijender Gupta had filed a complaint with the CVC on October 14, 2024, alleging that in the renovation of Kejriwal's residence - 6 Flag Staff Bungalow, plot numbers 45 and 47 of Rajpur Road and two bungalows (8-A and 8-B) of Flag Staff Road were demolished and merged into a larger residence. Due to this, the ground coverage and floor area ratio (FAR) norms have been violated in the construction of the grand bungalow spread over 40,000 square yards (8 acres).

The CVC has issued directions to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) to conduct a detailed probe into the matter, adding a fresh twist to the legal trouble against Kejriwal.
