Tamil Nadu Won’t Bow to Delhi Sultanate: Stalin Slams Amit Shah

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)- Amidst the language dispute, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK Chief MK Stalin once again took a dig at the central government and said that his state will never bow down to the government sitting in Delhi. Along with this, the DMK chief said that Tamil Nadu always remains out of Delhi's control. Taking a dig at Union Minister Amit Shah on Friday, Stalin said, "Amit Shah says that he will form the government in 2026. I challenge him and say that Tamil Nadu will never bow down to the Delhi Sultanate...we have so much power. What you do in other states by breaking parties and raiding and forming the government will not work in Tamil Nadu. This formula will not work here...Tamil Nadu always remains out of Delhi's control."
Stalin also questioned Home Minister Amit Shah on the NEET exam and imposition of Hindi in the state. He said, "I want to ask Union Home Minister Amit Shah, can he assure exemption from NEET? Can he assure that you will not impose Hindi? Can he give a list of special funds to be released to Tamil Nadu? Can you give your word that delimitation will not reduce seats (of Tamil Nadu in parliamentary elections)? If we are diverting attention, why have you not given a proper answer to the people of Tamil Nadu?"
On the remarks made by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, in which he called the Tamil Nadu government 'dishonest' and the people of the state 'uncivilized', Stalin said that politics cannot divide Tamil Nadu. The DMK chief said, "Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan made derogatory remarks against the Tamil people. Another Union Minister did the same. Even in Odisha, the Prime Minister said bad things about Tamils and asked if Tamils can rule Odisha... You tried to divide through politics but will not be able to do so in Tamil Nadu." Earlier, on April 15, MK Stalin had intensified his attack on the Center and advocated giving more autonomy to the state to decide in its own matters. Stalin's statement comes after the state government's confrontation with Governor RN Ravi over the approval of various bills passed by the Assembly.
Let us inform you that Chief Minister Stalin has introduced a resolution in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly to appoint a high-level committee that will recommend new autonomy of the state and regain the rights of the state. The committee will be headed by retired Justice Kurian Joseph and will include retired IAS Ashok Vardhan Shetty and M Nagarajan. The committee will submit an interim report to the state by the end of January 2026 and a full report will be submitted within two years. The committee will also give recommendations to strengthen the relationship between the state and the central government
