New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Tuesday that this year's Diwali is particularly significant as it marks the first time in 500 years that Lord Ram will celebrate the festival in his temple in Ayodhya. "I extend my heartfelt greetings to all citizens on Dhanteras. In just two days, we will celebrate Diwali, and this year is especially remarkable. After 500 years, Lord Ram is now seated in his grand temple in Ayodhya, and this will be the first Diwali celebrated with him there. We are all fortunate to witness such a momentous occasion," PM Modi said via video conference.

In 2019, the Supreme Court cleared the way for the temple's construction by ruling that the disputed land should be given to the Hindu side. The court also ordered the government to allocate a significant piece of land in Ayodhya for mosque construction. The Ayodhya Ram Temple was inaugurated in January this year, making this the temple's first Diwali celebration.

During the grand consecration ceremony, which PM Modi presided over, thousands of dignitaries, including business leaders, Bollywood stars, and cricketers, were in attendance. He also congratulated the youth receiving appointment letters at the Rozgar Mela.

"In this festive atmosphere, we are distributing appointment letters for government jobs to 51,000 young people today. I offer my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all of you. The process of providing permanent government jobs to countless youth across India continues. Many have already received appointment letters in BJP and NDA-ruled states," the Prime Minister stated. He specifically acknowledged the youth who received appointment letters from the Haryana government.

"Our government is recognized for its work in Haryana. While the government does provide jobs, it does so efficiently and without unnecessary delays. Today, I extend my special congratulations to those who received letters from the Haryana Government. Additionally, the newly formed government in Haryana has made a commendable start by offering employment opportunities to around 26,000 youths," PM Modi added.
