Hero Who Saved Rishabh Pant’s Life Now Fights for His Own After Tragic Suicide Attempt

Muzaffarnagar(The Uttam Hindu): Rajat Kumar, 25, who gained national attention for saving cricketer Rishabh Pant from a car crash in 2022, attempted suicide with his girlfriend, Manu Kashyap, 21, in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. The couple consumed poison after their families opposed their relationship due to caste differences.

Kashyap died during treatment, while Kumar remains in critical condition at the hospital. Both families had arranged marriages for them with others, rejecting their relationship. After Kashyap’s death, her mother accused Kumar of kidnapping her daughter and poisoning her. Kumar and Nishu Kumar rescued Rishabh Pant from a burning vehicle following a car accident near Roorkee in December 2022. Their quick actions were widely praised, and Pant later gifted them scooters as a token of appreciation.
