Gallantry Awards Announced: 17 Punjab Officers to Receive President’s Medal on Republic Day

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): On the eve of Republic Day, a total of 942 personnel of police, fire, home guards and civil defence and correctional services have been awarded gallantry and service medals of various categories.

The Union Home Ministry said that the awardees include personnel from police, fire, home guards and civil defence and those working in correctional services. A total of 17 officers and policemen from Punjab are being awarded President's medals for their outstanding and meritorious services. These include "President's Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM)" and "Excellent Service Medal (MSM)".

Two ADG rank officers of Punjab are being awarded the President's Medal for Distinguished Service. Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal Additional Director General and Nilabh Kishore Additional Director General will be awarded the PSM.
