New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After the crushing defeat of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, Chief Minister Atishi Marlena on Sunday submitted her resignation to Lieutenant Governor VK. Atishi became the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi. Before her, late BJP leader Sushma Swaraj and late Congress leader Sheila Dixit, who ruled Delhi for 15 years, have also been the Chief Minister of Delhi.

It is worth noting that in the results of Delhi Assembly elections that came on Saturday, BJP had won 48 out of 70 seats. On the other hand, AAP got only 22 seats, while Congress could not open its account for the third consecutive time. Amidst the excellent performance of BJP in Delhi, many big leaders of Aam Aadmi Party including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia had to face defeat, but apart from Chief Minister Atishi, three ministers Gopal Rai, Mukesh Ahlawat and Imran Hussain kept the party's credibility to some extent with victory.
