"WhatsApp Will No Longer Support Old iPhones: Find Out If Yours is on the List"

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): WhatsApp frequently phases out support for older devices and operating systems to make room for new features, enhanced architecture, and better security. As part of this effort, the popular messaging app will soon stop supporting certain older iPhone models, effective in 2025. The company has started notifying users on older iOS versions about this upcoming change. From next year, iPhones running outdated iOS versions will no longer be able to use WhatsApp.
Which iPhones Will Lose WhatsApp Support?
WhatsApp will stop supporting devices running iOS versions prior to iOS 15. This means if your iPhone is on iOS 14 or an earlier version, you’ll no longer be able to use the app after May 5, 2025. The platform will officially only support iPhones running iOS 15.1 or later, starting from that date. Currently, WhatsApp supports devices with iOS 12 or newer, but this will change next year.
What Should You Do?
If your iPhone is capable of running iOS 15.1 but is still on an older version, it’s crucial to update your phone’s software. By updating to iOS 15.1 or newer, you will continue to have access to WhatsApp services beyond May 5, 2025. If your device is unable to update to iOS 15.1 or later, you will need to consider upgrading to a newer iPhone model to keep using WhatsApp. Stay ahead of the change and ensure your device is up-to-date to continue enjoying WhatsApp’s features without interruption.
