WhatsApp Adds New Privacy Settings to Keep Chats Secure and Personalized
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): WhatsApp has introduced several new features aimed at enhancing user security and privacy. These features provide users with greater control over their chats, ensuring a more secure experience. Today, we highlight some of these safety and privacy features that every user, especially couples, should be aware of.
The Disappearing Messages feature allows users to automatically delete sent messages after a set period, which is particularly useful for those who wish to keep their private conversations secure. In the Status Privacy section, users can now customize who can view their status updates, giving them more control over their privacy. The Group Invite Permission feature allows users to decide who can add them to a group, preventing unwanted group invitations. Additionally, users can adjust the Profile Photo Privacy settings to control who can view their profile picture.
To use these features, open the chat where you want to send disappearing messages, click on the three dots, and select the "Disappearing Messages" option. When posting a status, you will have the option to choose who can view it. To manage who can add you to groups, go to the WhatsApp settings, click on the "Privacy" section, and select "Groups." Here, you can decide who can add you to a group. Similarly, to adjust your profile photo privacy, go to the "Privacy" section in the settings and select the "Profile Photo" option.
These new features provide users with greater control over their privacy and security, offering a safer and more personalized WhatsApp experience.
