Facebook Launches 'Friends' Tab: A Streamlined Feed with Less Clutter and More Connection

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Facebook has unveiled its new 'Friends' tab, designed to provide a more focused and personalized user experience. This feature ensures that only posts, stories, reels, birthday updates, and friend requests from your connections appear in your feed. Like Instagram's 'Following' and 'Close Friends' feeds, it eliminates recommended content, offering a simpler and ad-light browsing experience.
Currently, the feature is being rolled out in the US and Canada, with no set timeline for other regions, including India. Meta has yet to confirm whether posts in this feed will be shown in chronological order or filtered by an algorithm.
What makes the 'Friends' tab stand out is its ability to prioritize updates from those you care about most. Friend requests and 'People You May Know' will now have their own separate sections, further simplifying your feed.
This new update promises to enhance your Facebook experience by reducing distractions and allowing you to connect with your friends in a more meaningful way.
