New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging platforms with nearly 3 billion users worldwide, continues to innovate with new features to keep its vast user base engaged. The Meta-owned app is reportedly working on an exciting feature that will allow users to create and share entire sticker packs directly within the app.

According to WABetaInfo, a website tracking WhatsApp developments, this feature is currently in its beta phase and has begun rolling out to select Android users with the latest WhatsApp beta update (version 2.24.25.2) on the Google Play Store. Although the custom sticker pack creation functionality is still being developed, beta testers can already share entire sticker packs with their contacts, suggesting the feature could be widely available soon after successful testing.

How the feature works: Users will see a new three-dot menu next to each sticker pack in the sticker picker within any chat. This menu will offer two options: "Share" the sticker pack or "Remove" it from their personal library. By selecting the share option, users can easily send sticker packs to their contacts, family, or groups.

For first-party WhatsApp sticker packs, the sharing option generates a direct link to the official sticker store, allowing recipients to download the pack without needing WhatsApp to re-upload it. Third-party sticker packs can be directly uploaded and shared with others, offering users a convenient way to share their custom sticker collections.

Currently, the sticker-sharing feature is only available to a limited number of beta testers who have downloaded the latest WhatsApp beta for Android via the Google Play Store. WhatsApp has also teased the feature on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, hinting that it will soon be rolled out to a wider audience.

While no official launch date has been provided, the feature's gradual rollout to beta testers suggests it is nearing completion. Users interested in trying the feature ahead of the global release can join the WhatsApp beta program on the Google Play Store.
