Bengaluru Startup Pravaig Unveils VEER, the World’s First Operational Electric Military Vehicle, Wins iDEX Award

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Bengaluru-based innovative startup Pravaig has gained international recognition with its groundbreaking creation, the VEER, an all-terrain stealth vehicle designed specifically for tactical defense operations. Hailed as the world’s first operational electric vehicle (EV) in the military sector, VEER has successfully passed rigorous trials and secured the prestigious iDEX (Innovative Defence Excellence) award from India’s Ministry of Defence.
This achievement marks a major milestone in India’s push for strategic autonomy. Pravaig, in partnership with its subsidiary Atima Corporation, has been recognized by the Defence Innovation Organisation, a body under the Department of Defence Production. The iDEX award is part of a broader initiative launched in May 2021 to revolutionize India’s defense technology sector by promoting indigenous innovation and development.
Pravaig’s VEER is a key step towards reducing India’s reliance on foreign defense technology. The vehicle offers stealth capabilities, is field-repairable, and ensures complete data ownership, without any external control. As a result, the VEER strengthens national security while reinforcing India's commitment to technological sovereignty. As Pravaig states, the vehicle is "built in India, for India," reflecting the nation’s ambition to lead in defense innovation.
