New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Apple is restructuring its executive team to refocus its AI initiatives following months of delays, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing sources familiar with the matter. Earlier this month, Apple revealed that certain AI improvements to its Siri voice assistant would be delayed until 2026, though no reasons were provided for the setbacks.

Mike Rockwell, the vice president overseeing the Vision Products Group, will now take charge of Siri, as CEO Tim Cook has reportedly lost confidence in AI head John Giannandrea's ability to lead product development. Rockwell, recognized as the key figure behind Apple's Vision Pro headset, will now report to software chief Craig Federighi, effectively removing Siri from Giannandrea's oversight, according to the report.

Additionally, Paul Meade, who previously managed hardware engineering for Vision Pro under Rockwell, will now take over the Vision Products Group. Apple has not yet responded to a Reuters request for comment on the report.

Last year, Apple introduced a suite of AI-driven features called Apple Intelligence, which included new tools like email rewriting and inbox summarization.
