New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic accident occurred on the national highway in Moradabad, where three people lost their lives and seven others were injured when they were crushed by a speeding truck while attempting to push a broken-down vehicle. The incident took place in the Katghar police station area, near Kalyanpur bridge, late Saturday night.

According to the police, a truck had broken down on the highway, and several people were pushing it when another truck, traveling at high speed, struck them from behind. Three individuals died on the spot, while seven others were seriously injured. The injured victims were immediately rushed to a private hospital for treatment, and the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem. All the victims are reportedly from Lakhimpur Kheri.

Factory Worker Dies from Injuries in Sambhal

In another tragic incident, Vicky Kumar, a 21-year-old factory worker from Holi Chowk in Sambhal, succumbed to injuries sustained while working. Vicky was injured on Thursday when he came into contact with a machine's belt at his workplace. He was admitted to a private hospital in Majhola but died during treatment. CO Civil Lines, Kuldeep Gupta, confirmed that after the post-mortem, Vicky’s body was handed over to his family for last rites.

Elderly Couple Injured in Vehicle Collision in Kanth

An elderly couple was injured when an unidentified vehicle hit them near Sherua intersection on Kanth Road on Friday. Shafiqur Rahman and his wife Nafisa, residents of Umrikala in the Kanth police station area, had come to the hospital for eye medication. After getting their prescription, they were standing on the roadside waiting for a bus when the vehicle struck them. The couple was rushed to the district hospital for treatment.
