Sirsa Admin's Claims Exposed as Disabled Woman Crawls to Booth Due to Lack of Wheelchair

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Despite the Election Commission’s guidelines promising necessary facilities for voters at polling centers, these claims are being contradicted in Sirsa. At polling booth number 31 in ward number 7, located at National College, facilities for disabled voters were severely lacking, particularly a wheelchair. Due to the district administration's negligence, disabled voters faced significant difficulties. Although officials and staff at the polling center witnessed the situation, no one stepped forward to assist.
One such case involved Jyoti Rani, a disabled woman, who had come to cast her vote but struggled without a wheelchair. She was forced to crawl to the booth to exercise her right to vote. When asked about her experience, Jyoti expressed her frustration, stating that while the administration and Election Commission make grand claims about providing necessary facilities, the reality on the ground was quite different. She emphasized the difficulty she faced in reaching the booth without any support.
