PCB Confirms UAE as Neutral Venue for India’s Matches in 2025 Champions Trophy
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will serve as the neutral venue for India’s matches in the 2025 Champions Trophy as per the hybrid model. The decision was officially communicated to the International Cricket Council (ICC) by PCB spokesperson Amir Mir. "The PCB has formally informed the ICC about the neutral venue decision. India and Pakistan's Champions Trophy matches will now be held in the UAE," said Mir. The venue decision follows a meeting between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Sheikh Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Cricket Board who is currently in Pakistan.
Under the ICC’s executive board decision matches between India and Pakistan in ICC events until 2027 will be played at neutral venues including the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 and the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2028 hosted by Pakistan will also adopt this model.The Champions Trophy is set to take place in February and March 2025 with the final schedule expected to be released soon.
