Mandhana and Renuka shine as India crush West Indies by 211 Runs in 1st ODI
Vadodara (The Uttam Hindu): Smriti Mandhana’s brilliant 91-run knock and Renuka Singh’s sensational five-wicket haul guided India Women to a commanding 211-run victory over West Indies in the first ODI at Vadodara International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. After being asked to bat first, India made a strong start with Mandhana and debutant Pratika Rawal putting on a solid 110-run partnership. However Rawal was dismissed after a brilliant catch by Hayley Matthews. Mandhana’s innings which included 13 boundaries came to an end in the 32nd over when she was LBW to Zaida James. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur then played a quick cameo of 34 runs but was run out shortly after a 66-run partnership with Harleen Doel who also fell after getting bowled out.
