Indian Cricket Team Stuck in Australia After Sydney Test, Awaiting Return Tickets
Sydney (The Uttam Hindu): After suffering a 1-3 defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, the Indian cricket team is now planning its return to India, which has been delayed due to the early conclusion of the Sydney Test. Originally, the team was scheduled to return on January 8, but with the match ending in just three days, their entire travel schedule has been disrupted.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in the process of booking flight tickets for the players and support staff. Once the tickets are confirmed, the players will head back to India. Some senior players might return as early as Monday, but others may need to wait a bit longer, depending on the availability of the flights.
The two-month tour to Australia included multiple Test matches, with the team traveling to various cities and participating in match simulations. After such a long and exhausting tour, the players are eager to return home. Despite the series loss, the team showed individual moments of brilliance, with Rohit Sharma scoring a century and Ravichandran Ashwin taking key wickets. The team will now look to learn from this defeat and work on better preparations for the upcoming series.
