Hyderabad Cricket Association welcomes and felicitates members of India U-19 T20 World Cup-winning team

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : – On Tuesday, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President, Jagan Mohan Rao Arishnapally, warmly welcomed the members of India’s U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup-winning team upon their return at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The association also felicitated the players for their exceptional victory and outstanding performances in the tournament held in Malaysia. The Indian women’s team successfully defended their title in the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup with a commanding nine-wicket win over South Africa, who reached the final for the first time. Furthermore India became the first team to win the title without suffering a single loss in the entire tournament.
One of the standout players, Gongadi Trisha, who was named 'Player of the Tournament' at the recently concluded U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur, along with her teammate Drithi Kesari, received a heartfelt welcome upon their arrival in Hyderabad. They were accompanied by their head coach Nooshin Al Khadeer and trainer Shalini. The Hyderabad Cricket Association President took the opportunity to honor the players and support staff with a shawl and bouquet upon their arrival.
“Warm welcome to our Telangana cricket stars G. Trisha, Drithi, head coach Nooshin, and trainer Shalini at Hyderabad Airport! Their remarkable performance and victory in the U-19 World Cup have made us all incredibly proud!” Arishnapally shared images of the felicitation on social media. He also posted a video showing the players’ arrival with the caption: “Welcomed and Felicitated our Telangana cricket stars G. Trisha, Drithi, Head Coach Nooshin & Trainer Shalini at Hyderabad Airport after their exceptional performance in the U-19 World Cup!”
During the U-19 World Cup, Trisha set a new record for scoring the most runs in a single edition of the tournament. She amassed a total of 309 runs in seven matches with an impressive average of 77.25 including a century. Additionally, she took seven wickets in as many matches with her best bowling performance being 3-6. In the final, Trisha was named Player of the Match after she delivered an outstanding 3-15 with her leg spin followed by an unbeaten knock of 44 runs helping India seal a dominant nine-wicket victory and retain their U-19 World Cup title.
