BCCI’s New Policy Limits Family Presence on Tours, Impacting Virat and Anushka

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli are often spotted together with Anushka showing her support at nearly every match. Her reactions to Virat’s wins, losses, centuries and other moments frequently go viral. Virat is also seen speaking with Anushka during matches. However, recent news suggests that Anushka may not be able to accompany her husband on foreign tours for extended periods.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced new regulations limiting the presence of family members and wives during international tours. The board believes that the presence of families might affect a cricketer's performance. Recently, both Virat and KL Rahul’s wives were seen accompanying them during the Test series against Australia, with videos of Anushka and Athiya going viral.

The policy allowing girlfriends to join the tours was implemented during Virat’s captaincy in 2014, when he was in a relationship with Anushka.This new rule allowed girlfriends to travel with the players, unlike the previous policy which only permitted wives. Virat had received permission from then-head coach Ravi Shastri for this change. At present, Anushka is taking a break from acting to spend time with her family, including Virat and their children. The couple frequently enjoys time in London, where they welcomed their son, Akay. Recently, they visited Premanand Maharaj with their children before heading to Alibaug.
