New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu, who recently triumphed at the Syed Modi International tournament in Lucknow, is set to marry on December 22 in Udaipur. The 29-year-old shuttler will wed Hyderabad-based Venkata Datta Sai, an executive director at Posidex Technologies.

According to Sindhu's father, PV Ramana, the families have known each other for some time, but the wedding plans were finalized only a month ago. "This was the only window available due to her busy schedule starting in January," he told media. As a result, the families decided on a December 22 ceremony, with a reception planned for December 24 in Hyderabad. Sindhu will resume her training shortly afterward, as the upcoming season is crucial for her career.

The wedding festivities will begin on December 20. Sindhu, a celebrated figure in Indian sports, has an impressive career, with five World Championship medals, including a gold in 2019. Her Olympic achievements include a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Games and a bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She reached a career-high world ranking of No. 2 in 2017 and continues to be a dominant force in badminton.
