Rajpura(The Uttam Hindu): A tragic incident occurred in Mahendraganj Rajpura, Patiala, when three students of the School of Eminence were hit by a train speeding on the tracks while filming a reel on the railway tracks. One of the students died and two were left fighting for their lives.

Reports said the three 11th-grade students were filming a video reel near the 25-arch bridge on the Ambala side of the railway tracks, in the hope of uploading it on social media. They failed to notice an approaching train, which led to the accident. Gurpreet Singh Gavy, a student from Dhakansu village, died at the spot. Two other students of the same class were left injured - Maninder Singh from Dhakansu and Harsh Sharma from Sham Nagar Rajpura. Both of them have been sent to a private hospital in Rajpura for treatment.

The principal of the School of Eminence said that the students had not attended school on the day of the incident and the parents knew where they were at all times. ASI Jagat Singh said that the post-mortem of the dead student's body has been sent for and was delivered to his family. The investigation into the incident is still going on. This tragic accident is a stark reminder of the dangers of filming reels or taking risks near railway tracks.
