Baghpat (Uttam Hindu News): A major accident took place in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. Here, on the occasion of Lord Adinath's Nirvana Laddu festival the wooden scaffolding built in the Manastambh complex collapsed. Seven devotees died in this accident and about 75 people were injured. This accident happened on Gandhi Road in Baraut city Kotwali area on Tuesday morning. The wooden scaffolding in the Manastambh complex suddenly collapsed during which many people got buried under it. Not only this there was a stampede on the spot after the incident. On receiving the information the police reached the spot and started the rescue operation to save the people. It is being told that about 6-7 policemen have also been injured in this accident. The number of injured may increase all have been admitted to the hospital. On receiving the information about the incident DM Asmita Lal and SP Arpit Vijayvargiya reached the hospital and enquired about the condition of the injured.

Giving information about the accident Baghpat SP Arpit Vijayvargiya said, "A religious program was going on in the Baraut police station area. The Jain community had a program to offer laddus in the temple. Some people were climbing a scaffolding made of a beam when it broke and fell and 25 people were injured some of whom have suffered minor injuries. All the injured are being treated in the hospital." Meanwhile Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the accident in Baghpat. CM Yogi has instructed the officials to immediately reach the spot and expedite the relief work. He also instructed the district administration officials to immediately take the injured to the hospital and provide them proper treatment. Along with this he also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
