New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The property disputes going on for generations in Punjab are going to be resolved soon. The central government has completed 81 percent of the work of digital ownership mapping. 10,369 villages of the state have been surveyed through drones. Now, house-to-house survey is being done and property records are being collected. The real owners of these houses will soon be given ownership by issuing property cards.

Digital ownership mapping survey work is being done in 12,787 villages of 23 districts of the state. People of all 23 districts including Amritsar, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, Rupnagar and Mohali will benefit from this. The central government is working on this under the ownership scheme, so that the disputes going on for years in rural areas can be ended and people can be given the right of ownership. This information has been given in a report presented in the Lok Sabha by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The government has issued property cards after survey in 108 villages. In January, about 17,000 property cards were issued, after which this survey was started to issue cards for the remaining properties.
