Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic case of suicide involving an Amritdhari Sikh has surfaced in Amritsar. Reports suggest that the individual poured petrol on himself and set himself ablaze outside the District Administrative Complex on the Bathinda-National Highway. Following the incident, police from Sardar Tarn Taran station arrived at the scene, took custody of the body and began proceedings to identify the deceased.

It was reported that an employee posted at the Deputy Commissioner's office tried to extinguish the man completely, leading to his death on the spot. The deceased is estimated to be between 60 and 70 years old.

The question of why the man chose to end his life outside the offices of the Deputy Commissioner and SSP has raised serious concerns.
