Scientist Killed in Mohali: Neighbor Punches Him Over Parking Dispute

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a dispute over bike parking in Sector 66 of Mohali, a scientist working at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research was knocked down and punched in the stomach and chest, due to which the scientist died. The incident was captured in the CCTV camera. The deceased scientist has been identified as 39-year-old Abhishek Swarnkar and he was originally from Jharkhand. His family members allege that their neighbor Monty beat Abhishek badly, which led to his death.

Scientist Abhishek Swarnkar lived with his parents in a rented house in Sector-66. On Tuesday evening around 8:30 pm, when he was parking his bike, he got into an argument with his neighbour Monty over parking. The accused Monty first abused Abhishek and then started fighting. It is alleged that Monty punched Abhishek so hard in the stomach and chest that Abhishek fell on the ground. The family tried to wake him up but he could not get up. He was immediately taken to Fortis Hospital. Here the doctors declared him dead after examination.
