Rs 210 crore heroin haul: Amritsar police seize massive consignment smuggled from Pakistan

Amritsar (Uttam Hindu News): The biggest consignment of heroin so far in 2025 has been recovered in Amritsar, Punjab. Police has recovered about 30 kg of heroin coming from Pakistan from Ghorinda police station area of Amritsar. DGP Gaurav Yadav has shared information about this. Heroin was thrown in Ghorinda police station area through a drone sent from Pakistan. Based on secret information, the Amritsar Rural Police team of Punjab recovered the said heroin and an accused was arrested from the spot.
DGP Yadav said- The arrested accused was involved in large scale heroin smuggling. He had recently recovered a large consignment of heroin smuggled through drones across the border. An FIR has been registered against the accused at Police Station Gharinda. In which one accused has been named and the rest have been kept unidentified. According to the information, the police said that the accused's accomplices will also be questioned in the case. Because such a large consignment is not possible for a single person. At present, the police will present the accused in the court and take him on remand, so that the other accomplices of the accused can be found out. Also, investigation is being done as to from which Pakistani smuggler the accused was getting consignments of heroin and how many times he has ordered it.
