Punjabi Truck Driver Dies in Canada After Fatal Fall While Changing Tire: Family Seeks Help to Bring Body Back
Ottawa (The Uttam Hindu): In a heartbreaking incident, a Punjabi man who had moved to Canada a year ago in search of a better future has tragically lost his life. Jagjit Singh (43), from Bhattiwal village in Batala, Gurugram, had traveled to Canada on a work permit and was employed as a truck driver. While changing a truck tire yesterday, Jagjit slipped and fell backward, injuring his head. The sudden fall led to a fatal head injury, and he passed away.
As soon as the news reached his family, shock and grief struck his village. The family is now pleading with the government to help bring Jagjit's body back to India. Jagjit was the father of a young son. His brother shared that Jagjit had moved to Canada a year ago to support his family and had been working as a driver. He mentioned that the family of the person Jagjit was working for informed them about the accident. They explained that while changing the tire, Jagjit slipped, hit his head, and succumbed to his injuries. The grieving family is now requesting the government’s assistance in repatriating his body back to India.
