Punjab schools extend winter holidays, find out how long the break lasts!
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The Punjab government has officially extended winter holidays for schools due to the ongoing severe cold weather. According to the announcement, all government, aided, and private primary schools in the state will remain closed until January 7, 2024 to ensure the safety and well-being of students during the cold wave.
Punjab's Education Minister confirmed that schools will reopen on January 8, 2024. This extension demonstrates the government's proactive approach in addressing parents' concerns about the health risks associated with the cold weather.
Originally, the winter break was scheduled from December 24 to December 31, 2024 but due to the continued low temperatures, the government decided to extend the break. The situation is being closely monitored and additional changes may be made if needed based on weather conditions.
