Punjab Police strikes big! huge heroin haul seized, drug trade takes a hit

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Counter Intelligence (CI) unit of Amritsar achieved a major breakthrough by arresting Harmandeep Singh from Mahal village, Amritsar and seizing 10 kg of heroin from his possession. Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav shared this information on Twitter, confirming that the accused was actively working with Pakistan-based smuggler Chacha Bawa. The smuggler allegedly used drones to transport heroin into the Attari sector for further distribution.

Following the arrest an FIR has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and investigations are ongoing to identify other accomplices involved in the network. DGP Gaurav Yadav reaffirmed the Punjab Police's commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and ensuring a safer Punjab.
