Punjab Police ASI Dies in Tragic Accident While Heading to Meet Sister

Goraya (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic accident has been reported in Punjab, where a Punjab Police employee travelling from Ludhiana to Jalandhar was struck by an unidentified vehicle, leading to his death.

The deceased, 54-year-old ASI Balvir Chand, son of Madan Lal, was posted at the Ludhiana Commissionerate. His son, Sachin, stated that after finishing his duty, Balvir was riding his motorcycle to Jalandhar to visit his aunt. While crossing the bridge near RC Plaza Hotel on National Highway 44, close to Goraya, an unknown vehicle collided with his motorcycle, causing severe injuries. Despite being rushed to DMC Hospital in Ludhiana, Balvir Singh succumbed to his injuries.

Sachin has provided his statement to the Goraya police regarding the incident. ASI Surinder Pal of Goraya police station, who visited the scene, has registered a case against the unidentified vehicle and driver based on Sachin's statement and has initiated further investigation.
