Amritsar(The Uttam Hindu): Cricketer and politician Navjot Sidhu is in serious judicial trouble with his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu on the issue concerning their comments about their cancer treatment. The Chhattisgarh Civil Society has served a legal notice to the couple, seeking medical documents pertaining to their treatment within one week. This comes after a press conference Navjot Sidhu held at his house in Amritsar, where he spoke of the anti-cancer diet that he follows.

Sources indicate that the Civil Society has presented the couple with an ultimatum: they must either issue an apology or face a compensation demand of 100 million dollars (approximately 850 crores). The notice also seeks clarification on the couple's assertions, particularly regarding Sidhu’s claim that his wife successfully battled stage 4 cancer through lifestyle and dietary modifications. Sidhu further asserted that a 40-day dietary change was instrumental in overcoming cancer.

After the press conference, there were considerable confusions among the public and a section of allopathic medical community. Civil Society has also sought clarification from Navjot Kaur Sidhu asking whether she accepts the claims made by her husband regarding the treatment and if she has benefited from allopathic therapies. It further contests her claim to be cancer free, which infers that her healing was due to dietary practices by ingesting neem leaves, lemon water, tulsi leaves, and turmeric instead of allopathic medication.

Dr. Kuldeep Solangi convenor Chhattisgarh Civil Society, added that if the couple stands by these claims they would be duty-bound to furnish certified documentations in seven days, proving that diet alone cured her stage 4 cancer.
