Sangrur (The Uttam Hindu): Kisan leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike at the Khanoori Border, is in a critical condition. His health has deteriorated drastically after 28 days of fasting. Doctors monitoring his condition have stated that Dallewal's situation is grave, and his life is in immediate danger. A panel of 15 specialized doctors has been continuously monitoring Dallewal's health since the beginning of his hunger strike.

The doctors have expressed serious concerns about his condition, stating that he could suffer a heart attack or his internal organs could fail at any moment, potentially leading to death. Despite repeated appeals for him to end his fast, Dallewal has insisted that he will only call off the hunger strike if the government agrees to his demands. The doctors further mentioned that Dallewal experiences dizziness whenever he tries to stand up, which is a sign of his deteriorating health. They emphasized that his internal organs are failing, and the damage caused may be irreversible.

Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar has appealed to Dallewal to end his fast, stressing the importance of his life. Jakhar urged Dallewal to focus on ending his hunger strike instead of politicizing the issue. He also criticized the planned candlelight march by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, questioning the political motives behind it. Jakhar asked, "If Dallewal is alive, why a candlelight march? Are leaders only going to Khanoori for political gain?"
