Gurdaspur (The Uttam Hindu): A case has emerged regarding the demolition of a mosque in Kahnuwan. However, the police administration has stated that there was no mosque at the site; rather, the land belongs to the Punjab Waqf Board.

Kahnuwan police station SHO, Kulwant Singh, provided information stating that he, along with police personnel, inspected the site. During the inspection, no evidence was found to confirm the presence of a mosque. Additionally, an examination of available records also found no mention of any mosque at the location. He clarified that the land is the property of the Punjab Waqf Board.

Local residents also confirmed that they had never seen a mosque at that site in their lifetime. They stated that they were only clearing bushes and debris from a dilapidated structure. The police had previously taken note of the matter. Furthermore, local board officials have been instructed to conduct a land demarcation. Efforts will soon be made to construct a boundary wall to ensure the protection of Waqf property.
