Jalandhar( The Uttam Hindu): A woman from Jalandhar has accused a BJP leader and a journalist of raping her. The woman alleged that she was having a dispute with her husband, and to resolve the issue, the BJP councilor invited her to a restaurant. However, instead of taking her to the restaurant, the journalist sent his car to pick her up and took her to a gas station in Phagwara.

According to the victim, it was at the gas station that the BJP councilor started molesting her in a closed room. She managed to escape from the clutches of the councilor after making noise and later told her husband about the entire incident.

After learning about the incident, the husband filed a complaint with the police. The police have registered a case based on the victim's statement and have initiated an investigation. As part of the investigation, the police are examining CCTV footage from the gas station where the incident allegedly took place.

However, since filing the complaint, the victim's husband has been receiving death threats. The husband alleged that due to the involvement of the BJP councilor, their dispute was not getting resolved, and now, after filing the complaint, they are facing threats.

The Phagwara city in-charge, Aman Nahar, confirmed that a case has been registered and that the police are investigating the matter.
