Arrests snatcher within 24 hours of crime with 70 grams gold
Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu): Setting a new benchmark of effective and responsive Policing, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has nabbed a snatcher with 70 grams of Gold within 24 hours after it was snatched from a city resident. Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police said that they had got a complaint that an unidentified youth had snatched a handbag from a woman. He said that the bag had precious items like a gold necklace weighing 7 tolas (70 grams), Two mobile phones, cash and others. Mr Swapan Sharma said that the Police registered a FIR No. 145 under Section 304(2) IPC at Police Station Division No. 7 and started the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police said that during the investigation, the accused was identified as Daniyal s/o Salim, resident of Village Usmanpur, Jalandhar. He said that the Police arrested the accused within 24 hours of crime and recovered the items including 70 grams of gold from him. Mr Swapan Sharma said that further investigation into the case is going on and details will be shared later.
