In Punjab, "gajak" being made by crushing with feet, food lovers must watch this VIDEO
Bathinda (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking video from Bathinda, Punjab, is going viral, showing a person using their feet to make "gajak" (a traditional sweet). The video has raised serious concerns about hygiene, as the sweet is being prepared in an unsanitary manner. Upon receiving this information, the local administration took swift action and sealed a gajak factory operating illegally without a license.
The factory, located in the Goniana Mandi area, was found making gajak in an unhygienic manner, with peanuts being peeled using feet instead of machines. A social activist shared the video on social media, which prompted district health officials to investigate the matter. Led by Health Inspector Navdeep Singh Chahal, a raid was conducted at the factory, where 4.5 quintals of gajak were seized, and samples were taken for testing.

District Health Officer Navdeep Singh confirmed that the factory was operating without a proper license and failed to maintain basic hygiene standards. The gajak produced at the factory was deemed unfit for consumption, and the factory was sealed. Additionally, the owner of the factory, Vinod Kumar, was issued a challan (fine) and ordered to appear at the Bathinda ADC office. District Health Officer Amritpal Singh stated that the factory has been sealed, and after completing the investigation, a challan will be filed against the owner, Vinod Kumar. The case will now be heard by the ADC office, which has the authority to impose a fine ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹1 lakh if the owner is found guilty.
