Heartbreaking Accident on NH Punjab: Swift Car Overturns, Wife Tragically Killed

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic accident occurred near Sujowal village on the Ropar-Balachaur National Highway when a car travelling from Balachaur to Ropar lost control and crossed the divider, crashing into a scooter. The accident resulted in the death of a woman on the spot and left her husband injured. The car driver also suffered a broken arm.
According to SSF team in-charge Kulvir Singh, the accident involved a Swift car driven by Lovejot Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran, which veered out of control while travelling from Balachaur towards Ropar. The car collided with a TVS scooter, which was being driven by 60-year-old Babu Ram, accompanied by his wife Lakshmi. Lakshmi died instantly, and Babu Ram sustained serious injuries.
Babu Ram was transported to the hospital by the National Highway Authority ambulance for treatment, while Lakshmi's body was taken to the Civil Hospital mortuary in Balachaur. Authorities were informed, and both vehicles were cleared from the highway, allowing traffic to resume.
