Haryana cuts off internet in 12 villages ahead of farmers' march to Delhi: Security tightens as farmers push forward despite roadblocks!

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Ahead of the farmers' march to Delhi, the Haryana government has shut down internet services in 12 villages of Ambala until December 18. The internet will remain suspended from 6 AM on December 17 until midnight on December 17, as ordered by Haryana's Home Secretary, Sumitra Mishra. The affected areas include Dangedheri, Lohgarh, Mankpur, Dadiyana, Badi Ghel, Chhoti Ghel, Laharasa, Kalu Majra, Devi Nagar (Heera Nagar, Naresh Vihar), Saddopur, Sultanpur, and Kakru.

Today, a group of 101 farmers is set to march towards Delhi from the Shambhu border at 12 PM. They have already been stopped twice in the past when attempting to cross the border. To prevent them from proceeding, security personnel have been deployed at the border. In addition, Congress leader and wrestler Bajrang Punia will also be arriving at the Shambhu border today.

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher stated that this will be the third group of farmers to be sent towards Delhi, despite previous attempts being blocked. He emphasized that even if the group does not succeed in moving forward, their message is reaching people worldwide. Pandher also urged that even if some farmer leaders cannot participate in the march, they should refrain from making statements against the movement. Regarding the hunger strike of Jagjit Singh Dallewal, Pandher said that once a decision is made, there is no turning back. The hunger strike has been widely discussed, and the decision was taken after careful consideration.
