Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer Smashes Records, Wins Five Titles at MPs’ Badminton Tournament

New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Member of Parliament from Sangrur and a member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has made Punjab proud by winning five titles at the prestigious National Parliamentarians Badminton Tournament.

The annual tournament, held at the Constitution Club of India (CCI) in New Delhi, saw Meet Hayer competing in five different categories. He triumphed in all of them, securing victories in the MP singles, doubles, mixed doubles, MPs vs. Delhi Lawyers, and MPs vs. Non-MPs categories.

A former Sports Minister of Punjab, Meet Hayer is renowned for his expertise in both badminton and cricket. He had previously been honored as the "Man of the Match" in a match between Punjab and Haryana legislators in Chandigarh.

Speaking about the significance of sports, Meet Hayer remarked, “Sports are an integral part of our society. In today’s world, everyone should engage in sports to maintain fitness. This not only boosts the morale of the players but also inspires the community.”
