Four people named in dowry harassment case, police begin investigation

Bathinda (The Uttam Hindu): A case has been registered by the Mahila police station against four individuals for allegedly harassing a woman for dowry. Amandeep Kaur a resident of Gehlewala filed a complaint stating that she had married Binaypal Singh a resident of Markhai, Ferozepur district. She claimed that while her family spent within their means for the wedding her husband, Binaypal along with his father Gurvinder Singh, mother Manjinder Kaur and maternal grandmother Gurpreet Kaur began harassing her for more dowry after the marriage. Amandeep further accused them of destroying all her belongings.

Following an initial investigation the police have filed a case against the accused for dowry harassment and have launched further action. This case highlights the ongoing issue of dowry-related abuse, with legal steps now being taken to address the allegations.
