Family Attacked with Sharp Weapons in Jalandhar, Accuses Police of Inaction

Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu):In a shocking incident near Nagara Gate's Shiv Nagar area in Jalandhar, eight attackers brutally assaulted a family with sharp weapons last night. The family alleged that the attackers assaulted them in the presence of police, who failed to intervene. Several family members sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced.

Dragged Out of Their Home and Attacked

Victim Vijay stated that he had informed the police earlier about the attackers waiting outside their house. Around 8:30 PM, the assailants barged into their home, vandalized the property, and dragged the family members outside before launching a brutal assault with sharp weapons.

Brother and Sister Also Attacked While Trying to Help

Vijay further explained that his brother, Pankaj, tried to save him but was also beaten by the attackers. When his sister attempted to intervene, they attacked her with sharp weapons, inflicting severe injuries that required six stitches.

Attackers Have Struck Before

According to Vijay, the same group of attackers had assaulted them previously, but the matter was resolved through a settlement. This time, however, the attackers, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, launched a violent attack without any provocation or personal enmity.

The family also accused the police of standing by without taking action during the assault. They have demanded strict action against the attackers and questioned the police's inaction.
