Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today conducted a review meeting on the progress of ongoing highway projects in the district. He emphasized the need for faster execution and completion of these critical infrastructure projects within their designated timeframes.

Dr. Aggarwal directed officials to expedite work on major highway developments, including the Jalandhar-Katra Expressway, Jalandhar Bypass Project, and the Amritsar-Bathinda Greenfield Project, among others. He also stressed the importance of addressing any delays caused by land acquisition issues and urged CALAs (SDMs) to ensure the prompt disbursal of payments to landowners who have given up their land for these projects.

The Deputy Commissioner called upon landowners to collect their payments promptly after the announcement of awards and transfer possession of their land to the Jalandhar Administration. He highlighted the importance of these projects in improving regional connectivity and driving economic growth.

Dr. Aggarwal also addressed concerns raised by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials, directing the SDMs to resolve obstacles swiftly, if any. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including ADC (General) Amit Mahajan, SDM Balbir Raj Singh, SDM Lal Vishwas, SDM Amanpal Singh, District Revenue Officer Navdeep Bhogal, and others.
