Congress Worker Files Dog’s Nomination for Punjab Elections
Amritsar(The Uttam Hindu): In a stunning development, Congress worker Mehak Rajput has decided to fight the Punjab municipal corporation elections on the nomination of her pet dog, Jimmy. Mehak has been upset since the Congress did not give her ticket for Ward 38. Jimmy's nomination papers were filed by her at the SDM-1 office in Amritsar. Mehak had also said that if the nomination of her pet dog was rejected, she would contest it herself.
Mehak's protest has highlighted her discontent with the arbitrary decisions made by the Congress party and its neglect of her years of loyalty. Since animals cannot legally file nominations, Mehak has been using social media to campaign for Jimmy and garner attention for her cause. The municipal elections, scheduled for December 21, will include five major cities with extended voting hours. Security measures have been tightened, and authorities have enforced a ban on weapons during the election process. Mehak's bold move has sparked wide public interest.
