Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu):The CM di Yogshala program, spearheaded by the Punjab Government, has become a beacon of health and wellness in Jalandhar, with 5,898 registered participants actively participating in yoga to enhance their physical and mental well-being. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal while lauding the initiative, highlighted its role in fostering a healthy lifestyle and holistic wellness across the district.
He mentioned that operating through 167 active yoga classes, this program ensures accessibility for both urban and rural communities. Out of these, 80 classes are conducted at the block level, bringing yoga to rural areas, while 87 classes cater to urban participants. This structured outreach reflects the government’s commitment to making yoga a daily practice for all sections of society.
The Deputy Commissioner further mentioned that a dedicated 32-member team drives the success of the program. These instructors conduct daily sessions, with 16 serving urban areas and 15 focusing on rural communities, ensuring a balanced approach to wellness. He also said that the program also encourages community participation as residents can start free yoga classes in their localities by gathering at least 25 members and giving a missed call to 7669400500 or registering on cmdiyogshala.punjab.gov.in.
Pointing out further, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh said that in yet another unique initiative to further empower yoga enthusiasts, satellite centers are being established in district where applicants would be offered a one-year job-oriented Yoga Diploma Course, equipping students with skills and practical exposure. These trainees to be deployed as yoga instructors and receive stipends, creating opportunities for financial independence. He emphasized that CM di Yogshala mission is to integrate yoga into daily lives and foster a harmonious society. With its growing impact, the initiative is reshaping community health, proving to be a transformative force in Jalandhar.
