New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): To reduce the death rate of road accidents in Punjab, the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann started the Road Safety Force. Due to this start, there is a provision for immediate treatment of road accident victims when they reach the hospital. Due to the formation of Road Safety Force and effective help, there has been a huge reduction in road accident deaths in Punjab. The number of road accident deaths has decreased by 45.5 percent in the year 2024 as compared to the year 2023.

Actually, there were many such black spots in the state where there were serious technical flaws which were becoming a major cause of accidents. The Punjab government removed the technical flaws of the black spot. It was not so easy to achieve this target, because the black spots were also on the National Highway. There were various types of technical flaws in it, which were removed in a completely planned manner. On the one hand, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann removed the flaws of the black spot. On the other hand, Road Safety Force was formed. The trained employees of Road Safety Force are fully capable of saving people's lives in case of road accidents. Road Safety Force is equipped with 144 ultra-modern vehicles on state and national highways. In case of road accidents, they reach the spot within 15 minutes. Earlier, 15 to 18 deaths used to occur in road accidents in a day, but now this figure has come down to one to two. Mann government has brought revolutionary changes in the traffic system. New steps are being taken by Punjab Police for improvement. Now SSF is preparing to crack down on those driving at high speed and under the influence of alcohol.
