Big Announcement by Punjab Government: Offline Verification to End, Services to Be Online Starting January 1st
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The Punjab government has taken a major step to provide convenience to the public. Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora made the announcement at an event in Sector 26, Chandigarh, stating that from January 1st, all verification-related services in Punjab will be available online, and offline verification will be discontinued.
Aman Arora launched a project for six types of online services related to verification. He explained that the government is preparing to make 95 services, which have been offline for a long time, available online across various departments. This includes services from the Revenue Department, Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, and the Electricity Department. He claimed that this initiative will save people from the hassle of visiting government offices. Punjab will be the first state in the country to adopt this system. The services primarily include Resident Certificates, Caste Certificates, Income Certificates, EWS Certificates, and Dogra Certificates, with all necessary setups already in place.
WhatsApp Chatbot Service
The government is also set to launch a WhatsApp chatbot service, allowing people to book appointments simply by informing the bot via WhatsApp. This service will help streamline the process, and all communication will be conducted in Punjabi. Online tokens will be issued, and all revenue officers, including Patwaris, Panchs, Sarpanches, Corporators, and Numberdars, will be integrated into the system. Once an individual applies for a service online, their details will be sent directly to the Patwari. The Patwari will forward the information to the respective Sarpanch, Corporator, or Numberdar, completing the verification process.
