Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Lashing out at the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government for failing to commemorate Punjab Day on November 1, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Partap Singh Bajwa, on Saturday said that AAP's anti-Punjab face once again unmasked.

"The bogus ambassadors of the Punjab, Punjabi, and Punjabiat, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and the AAP government have completely disregarded the Punjab Day this year. Did they do that intentionally? The answer is better known to them but their hollowness for Punjab has been unveiled, "said Bajwa.

Senior Congress Leader Bajwa said that to mark the formation of a Punjabi-language-speaking state under the Punjab Reorganisation Act (1966), the Punjab Day is observed across the state on November 1 every year. The states including Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Karnataka, and Kerala also celebrate their day on November 1, and they did that this year too by organising state-level programmes. However, the AAP government overlooked the Punjab Day.

Taking a jibe at Punjab CM, Bajwa said he created a high-level drama last year. He held a debate event at Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana previous year. Only the AAP workers were allowed to enter the venue. In that staged drama, he addressed his party workers and became the laughingstock across the country.

"With outstanding debt in Punjab spiraling rapidly, the law and order situation going out of hand, and the agricultural economy suffering jolts one after another, Punjab has already reached the verge of becoming an insignificant state under the 2.5 years of the AAP regime. Mann has reduced the Punjab to a comedy show," Bajwa added.
