New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a major crackdown on drug networks, Amritsar Rural Police arrested two hawala operators, Sukhjit Singh and Ranbir Singh, who were involved in facilitating illegal financial transactions related to drug trafficking. The arrests were made as part of an ongoing investigation by Gharinda police station in connection with the seizure of 561 grams of heroin.

During the investigation, the arrested individuals revealed their connections to hawala funding and various drug supply chains. The police made significant recoveries, including ₹17,60,000 in Indian currency, $4,000 in US dollars, and a laptop containing crucial transaction records.

Punjab Police remains committed to making the state drug-free and continues to target individuals and networks involved in drug trafficking. The success of this operation is another step in their ongoing effort to combat drug-related crimes and disrupt illegal financial operations tied to drug trade networks.
