Yoga awards 2025 now open: Recognizing innovators and trailblazers in the world of yoga

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Ministry of Ayush has announced nominations for the prestigious Prime Minister's Yoga Awards, set to be conferred during the 2025 edition of the International Day of Yoga (IDY2025). These awards will recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the promotion and development of Yoga both in India and internationally.
The awards will be presented in four categories: National Individual, National Organisation, International Individual, and International Organisation. Each winner will receive a trophy, certificate, and a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh. Nominees must be 40 years or older and have at least 20 years of dedicated service in Yoga promotion. Applications can be submitted via the MyGov platform until March 31, 2025.
The Ministry of Ayush stated that the link for submissions would also be available on its website and those of its autonomous bodies. Entities can either apply directly or be nominated by a prominent Yoga organization. Applicants can apply for one category per year, either National or International.
The Prime Minister's Yoga Awards celebrate exceptional contributions to Yoga, reinforcing its role in disease prevention, health promotion, and managing lifestyle-related disorders. These awards, personally endorsed by the Prime Minister, reflect the government's commitment to recognizing those who have significantly contributed to the growth and propagation of Yoga.
A screening committee established by the Ministry of Ayush will review all nominations and select up to 50 names per category to recommend to the Evaluation Jury. This initiative underscores the Ministry's dedication to promoting traditional systems of medicine and wellness, including Yoga, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, and more.
