New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): You must be using Desi Ghee in dal, saag, etc. It is not only beneficial for health but also helps in removing many skin problems. With the winds picking up in February, the skin tends to become dry and lifeless. Dead skin is a common issue and pigmentation can also occur on the lips. Pure Desi Ghee is a boon for all these skin problems.
This is how ghee keeps the skin young
Siraj Siddiqui an Ayurvedic doctor from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, explained to Local 18 that pure Desi Ghee contains omega fatty acids, phospholipids and antioxidants. It has the ability to neutralize free radicals, nourishing the skin and providing moisture. He further mentioned that ghee contains vitamins E, A and K, which keep the skin healthy. Ghee also helps reduce the damage caused by oxidative stress.
Use ghee to enhance beauty like this
Dr. Siraj Siddiqui shared several ways to use ghee to tackle facial skin problems and enhance beauty. You can warm pure Desi ghee and apply it directly at night, massaging it gently; this will also help reduce dark circles under your eyes. Additionally, you can use ghee to make a face mask or lip balm.
For good results, clean your skin every night and massage your face and neck with a pinch of ghee. This will leave your skin soft and smooth. If you massage with a mixture of coconut oil, shea butter and ghee, it will help with even the driest skin. You can also prepare a scrub by mixing ghee, fine sugar and honey to remove dead skin from your face and lips, making the skin smooth.
Face mask can also be made.
To make a face mask, take two spoons of gram flour add two spoons of ghee and one spoon of turmeric. Mix well and apply it. Wash it off with clean water after 20 minutes. This will provide great results. Those who have pigmentation problems should mix equal amounts of ghee and aloe vera gel, massaging it for 5 to 10 minutes. However, people with oily skin and pimples should avoid using ghee on their faces.
